:: last night i got a chance to sneak into the opening of @qwocmap - Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project’s 15th annual film festival opening night! congratulations to the filmmakers and i’m so proud of you, @navamau and @ahyasimone ! ❤️ support the #qwocmap film festival happening this weekend- and it’s FREE. tonight and tomorrow features films and after party festivities 💕 #qtpoc

:: today i joined an amazing panel of leading experts on health and ageing for the #beinvinciblewomenssummit and discussed the need for true transgender health equity. in the medical industry, the standardisation of medical care is determined by cisgender white men- and often the very real experiences of transgender people in their journey towards medical intervention gender affirmation is ignored. currently, no medical schools in the USA offer residency or specialised training on transgender medicine, transgender ageing, transgender mental health, etc. all of these areas of “on the job” training. this is unacceptable- and often leads to trans people being experimented on for the sake of niche techniques. there also isn’t much transparency on surgeon’s length of training and ongoing professional training. WPATH- please change this. k, thanks #transgender #health #equity

we spent the afternoon supporting grassroots trans and queer people of color led activism in New Orleans, and what better project than @youthbreakout BreakOUT! seeks to end the criminalization of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth to build a safer and more just New Orleans. The CTCD co-founders, staffers and Bay Area community stakeholders got a chance to share space with incredible youth and trans people of color and also write letters to queer and trans prisoners in Louisiana.
